CONGRATULATING AN ATHEIST

Normally, when I meet an atheist, the first thing I like to do is to congratulate him and say, " My special congratulations to you", because most of the people who believe in God are doing blind belief - he is a Christian, because his father is a Christian; he is a Hindu, because his father is a Hindu; the majority of the people in the world are blindly following the religion of their fathers. An atheist, on the other hand, even though he may belong to a religious family, uses his intellect to deny the existence of God; what ever concept or qualities of God he may have learnt in his religion may not seem to be logical to him.

My Muslim brothers may question me, "Zakir, why are you congratulating an atheist?" The reason that I am congratulating an atheist is because he agrees with the first part of the Shahada i.e. the Islamic Creed, ‘La ilaaha’ - meaning ‘there is no God’.

So half my job is already done; now the only part left is ‘il lallah’ i.e. ‘BUT ALLAH’ which I shall do Insha Allah. With others (who are not atheists) I have to first remove from their minds the wrong concept of God they may have and then put the correct concept of one true God.

Wrong, blue, very wrong. To tell someone that their belief or non belief of something is stupid is wrong...

This is something that should be against anyones beliefs. You shouldn't call someone stupid for not having the same beliefs (or non beliefs) as you.

I am no atheist, but on the other side I don't go to church.

Why? you may ask, because I find some of the stuff preached or discussed is wrong in context.

I do believe in something higher than me, but I do not feel the need that I should have to go to church in order for them (the higher being) to love me unconditionally since that is the notion we all get from the preacher lol.

I will never and have never said that because someone believes in god, or cause they are full hearted about going and being religious that they are stupid. It's their choice, and it's our freedom, and yours to do so correct?

If we take that away then whats the point in religion... since we have no choice in the matter. But we do, so it's a choice, not a mandatory sentence brought up by the higher being whomever he/she maybe.

No no, it's alright, I was not offended one bit. That's my point lol, I am just saying everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and beliefs, but to put someone down for them is the worst thing to do lol.

Well I too believe that putting someone is wrong but one can and I believe one should try to show them the right way.
See as you said you dont go to church because you feel the the teachings they preach in church are not always right. This is the beauty of MIND Power GOD has given us. If you feel that way about the church then why dont you Read or Search about other Religions? See most of the people are religious because their parents were the same but an athiest is probably the more intelligent because atleast he Uses his mind and recognise what is going wrong.
You know that Fastest growing religion in America is Islam, Fastest Going Religion in Europe and France is Islam too. Fastest growing Religion in the world is Islam at the moment? Dont you find this odd? as all the media and especially the Western media is against the Islam and Making us look Terrorists infront of the world and still their people are accepting Islam so numberly especially the Women.
You Got to think man, Research on it and read Islamic Books I am sure that what you said that you do believe there is someone above us You'll Find that Right Almighty Power In Islam.
I am not Forcing you to anything, I am just Doing what Every Muslim Should do, that is making aware others about the true Islam.
You know Islam is an arabic word which generate from Salam which Means PEACE.

Yeah I understand your point and I will look into it, but by no means convert Wink

.. I have no religious points.

I just wanna live my life, hoping the person in the sky understands my choice and loves me for that. I believe I do, but I feel that sometimes words are misunderstood by the preacher himself.

Last time I went to church I remember the preacher saying "To fear god, for he is almighty and such", but in my mind we shouldn't fear him.. but embrace him as a person too. I shouldn't have to fear him if I wanna believe as that would turn me further away from him.

I respect him/her with all my heart, but I wish not to fear him/her.

Its not about Converting dan, Its just about finding the Right and taking the side of right and avoiding the wrong. Thats what I believe

I know everyone and all religions have their thoughts on what is right and wrong, and I have mine. I always give everything a shot Very Happy

No I know, I hardly take offense Very Happy

especially anything regarding religion in any matter.

Recently (2 days ago) I lost my grandma, and to make it worse I had to be woken up by my dad crying and telling me this, and he hardly ever cries.. he lost his dad 2 years ago, and now is having to deal with his mom.. he only has one brother, and 3 step brother and sisters that he has around and they hard treat him like a brother (the step brothers and sisters).. but his actual brother treats him like a brother all the way. Anyways... to case in point.

It's hard to think about death in anyway, and I hope my grandma went to a better place, and I do believe in life after death. I am not saying I do not believe in god, I do not believe in the need to go to church to woreship. I hope I made myself clear above, cause I have no clue now.

I believe there is someone or something watching over us, but I have no clue to what or whom it is, and I can't judge others for their beliefs in whom it maybe.. But I think that with that being said others should not either..

It's just how I think. It's hard to explain really, cause I have no facts or things to back me up, it's just how I am. I believe in someone, and I hope some day that when I die I can meet him/her or it.. whatever it is.. (I can't be bias lol).

So yeah, I do want something to be there, but I can't believe in just one god or all gods, just something.. that's all I believe in.

very sorry about your grandma macster, May god bless her. and i also respect every other religion because Islam tells us to do so, but here my perspactive is to give what i have got about every religion and maybe someday someone gets the true blessings from God and understands the true meanings of our creation.

Honestly I have to disagree with anyone trying to "prove" religion.
If religion could be proven, it wouldn't be the supernatural.
